Ended up accidentally catching most of the US election online. I'd been planning to get a good night's sleep in preparation for work. I'm not sure what I got was sleep and I certainly wasn't rested yesterday (I will admit the wine I had can't have helped either). But yay for a new Democratic president.

Somehow managed to get through the day half asleep and headachey. In the evening, went out with [livejournal.com profile] the_ladylark to see things being set on fire and other things going whizz bang fwoosh *sparkle*. Came home and had pumpkin soup. Went to bed confident my headache would be all gone today.

It's not. have migraine precursors again*, so I'm trying to not do too much of one thing for too long. And I'm keeping away from lots of light and movement.

* One I get that always confuses me, but is rather fun in a weird way: Everything has a metal tinge to it. Food and drink have a faint metallic taste, everything sounds vaguely like a bell has just been struck, solid objects have a metallic sheen and Tallest Housemate's voice sounds like a truck rumbling through my brain.

It gets really fun when I look at soft objects. The sofa I'm on is really, really soft and comfy brown lead, the drapes are patterned soft gold, and the curtains in the office are even more fun. They're stripey coppery-gold and they shimmer!

Metal objects are interesting too. Metal with a metallic tinge. It means that the spoon I use is so much more...spoon-y. And metal-y. It exudes spooniness and metalliness and it just so...emphatically a spoon. It's (metaphorically speaking**) jumping up and down and wanting to be noticed in all its wonder and glory and won't you appreciate it and use it, and look, it is a spoon and then I have to go away from the emphatic spoon and have a quiet lie down.

It's not painful as such, and it's quite...enjoyable, if rather surreal.

** Because it actually jumping up and down would be strange.
