Letter: Arrives.
Tax office: 'You have earned monies. We have a set amount of monies earned by people of your age and qualifications, therefore you have earned this much. You have earned not all monies in The Netherlands. This means you have earned manylots of monies in the UK. Yay! Gi'us money!'
Me: Writes letter back stating roughly 'Er, you're wrong. I have earned this much monies in 2007. I did not work in December 2007. I do not owe you lots of monies.'
Tax office: 'Okay, prove it.'
Me: Does tax return for 2007. Again. With accompanying letter stating 'My calculations, let me show you them.'
Time: Passes.
Tax office: 'Ooooh! You have earned this much monies! And you claimed health insurance assistance. Bad! Gi'us monies!'
Tax office calculations: Are fucked.
Me: *sigh* 'No, I earned this much mo...'
Letter: Arrives.
Tax office: 'Er. Heh. Our calculations are fucked. You earned this much monies. We owe you monies.'
Me: Okay then.
Tax office: 'We owe you more monies than we calculated you owe us. The balance will be put in your account.'
Me: Cool!
Tax office: 'Here, you can have 23 euros.'
Me: 'Oh gosh, I can retire now...Whoopie for me.'
Time: Passes.
Tax office: 'Where the hell is our monies! Gi'us monies!'
Me: 'What the hell ass... What are you babbling about now?'
Tax office: New calculations. Student loan office says you earned this much monies. You say you earned this much monies. You have monies! Gi'us!'
So yes, the student loan office is using the same figure as the tax office did previously and I needed to fix the tax return first before being able to go to the student loan office and say I've not earned 42,000 euros in 2007, but the the tax office has gone back to the student loan office for fuck knows what reason and have gone 'monies!' and the student loan office is making noises about back payments of my student loan and I'll just be over there slicing my wrists open with the latest tax office letter because I don't really want to deal with this shit.
