Nicking the vein on your ankle bone when shaving legs. A) painful, B) makes you bleed like a stuck pig, C) really quite painful, D) won't stop bleeding for a good while, E) is a bugger to plaster and F) did I mention really fucking painful already?

To top it all off, I fear it's got infected. Ankle's throbbing and hurting like it's going out of style, and it's radiating down to my foot. I had to actually take a painkiller. It's not overly warm, swollen or red, so it may just be warning signs and quite so painful because of its position and the bony region.

I did that when I was 14, in my eagerness to go and hang out with my friends who'd just arrived in the yard. I still have a little scar. Clean it with some salt water?

Honestly, having seen it, I think it's just painful because it's a horribly painful wound. It's going to hurt. Probably for a week.
