You won't hear me complaining about my IUD a lot, because usually I am very happy with it. I love not having to take the pill anymore. I love the fact that I no longer have any hormones coursing through my body (except the regular ones, of course). I'd cuddle my IUD, but the phrase "Er...ew?" springs to mind.
What I don't love is the occasional bad periods I get. Well, the periods aren't that bad (except for the first day or two where I just want to curl up in a corner and mope), but occasionally I suffer from PMS. I get mopey and slightly depressed every time, but usually this can be solved by lots of chocolate and tea. I'll still be mopey and depressed, but after consuming enough chocolate and bad sweets I'll be so high on sugar I just don't care anymore. It's one way to get through the days.
It gets annoying when my body decides to join in on the fun, though. Which it did today. Everything hurts, apart from my head. I already dropped two mugs of tea today because I got a violent cramp and there was nothing for it but to drop everything I was holding and curl up in a ball on the floor whimpering. It's also fun to get a cramp when you're on the phone with the gynaecologist planning the yearly spelunking expedition (first free date? 25th of June. day before my birthday. What joy). Fortunately the woman on the other end managed to reassure me when I explained the problem. She also said that should it not have passed in two days, I can call back and they'll crowbar me in next week or so.
And the mood swings. Oh god, the mood swings. Since this morning, I've run the whole gamut from horny-as-hell to please-kill-me-now-I'm-a-worthless-human-being-and-nobody-loves-me-waaaaaaaaaaaaah!. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be over there in the corner with a hittepit draped over my abdomen, supressing the urge to knife everything that moves.
