Cook through October: Day 2. Cottage pie.

This was so easy! And nice!
I still had the bolognese sauce left over from Day 1 and all I did was put this in an oven dish while waiting for the potatoes to cook. I used Maris Pipers, because they're apparently good as baking potatoes and making mash (I will experiment with different kinds of potatoes and at the end of the month, I will know the English equivalents of my Dutch favourites :)). Set three big potatoes aside for jacket spuds at some point.
Peeled, rinsed, quartered and boiled potatoes. Made mash with some milk, butter and oodles of grated mature cheddar. Piled on top of bolognese, smoothed out and added more grated cheddar on the top. Put in oven for 45 minutes. Fed left-over mash to housemate who promptly ran out of Go after finishing it :).
Once ready, served up and ate. Very, very nice. I think I made omnom noises. Considering both
da_pol and I appear to both be alive and well this morning, I declare this cottage pie to be a success.
There's enough left over for lunch today and for another portion tonight, which will have chicory salad on the side. And now to think up dinner for tomorrow. I'm possibly going to do something easy like jacket potato with tuna or smoked mackerel.
