Why an active imagination is not good

I'm passing the time at work by reading some more TV Tropes, specifically the High Octane Nightmare Fuel page. I've just hit the X-Files examples.

I forgot about Eugene Victor Tooms (him from Squeeze and Tooms). This guy is without a doubt one of the scariest TV monsters ever created. I saw Squeeze when I was home alone and it was dark and windy and there were no housemates to reassure me and I went outside for a cigarette and hot chocolate and I nearly had a heartattack when one of the local cats appeared around the corner with the glowy eyes and the not making a noise and oh gods, it was horrible.

It was the most terrified I have ever been after watching a TV episode. It gave me the heebies for weeks. And then I slowly forgot. Until I read that particular entry. And now I remember I am in work until 20:00 PM. I will go to an empty house and it will get dark and I'll be alone...

Also? I am sat right under an airvent.

So I'll just be cowering under my desk if you need me.

The party was good, but I didn't sleep well (old man syndrome - drinking heavily = up all night) so today has been pretty quiet; just what's needed :)

AND I have tomorrow off as well, which is great :)

Augh! Right, I'm going to ask for a blanket day tomorrow. I'll be huddling under it gibbering in terror. You think 'can't come to work, airvent monsters will eat me' would be considered a valid reason not to go to work?

Nope. Fortunately my brain is not that scary a place. Eugene the kitten is just...Eugene the kitten. Airvents are not his terrain, what with them being dusty and dirty and they might mess up his fur. He prefers kitchens.

I remember I had about 2 months of sheer terror around glass doors in my mum's house after watching Scream at the cinema... I do sympathise with you! (mum's external downstairs doors are glass)
