The weekend
Jul. 13th, 2008 08:34 pmBusy, busy weekend. Fun too.
Met up with familiar and unfamiliar shiny people and went to Judder in the evening. Met more unfamiliar shiny people (and did not panic and run away once) and spent some time dribbling at the nice costuming. Dribbled over
shevek and snuggled him lots (unfortunately not enough). Coined the phrase 'also available on livejournal' when introducing them to the people I was with).
Slept badly as air mattress de-inflated itself while I was on it and because there was tandem snoring/wheezing going on in the room.*
On Saturday went to a medieval re-enactment in Tewkesbury where I hopefully didn't come across as too strange when I started squeeing over swords and assorted weaponry.
Slept in a Travelodge just off the M5 that night in preparation for going to the Taste of Birmingham food festival. This was highly enjoyable. It was sunny, there was nice food and I got to try Pimm's for the first time.
I am now home again, tired but happy. Tomorrow I will start my RAS training at work. I expect to be brain dead by the end of the week.
* I still get edgy when people snore. I'm fine when I am asleep, but if I get woken up I cannot get back to sleep. If I actually get woken up by it, I need to resist the urge to start hitting the snorer. I'm not sure why it puts me on edge, apart from having lived for years with someone who snored really badly. Silly brain.
