Remember yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDONKEY!eeeeeeeeeeee? Yeah, the brain has moved on to yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeALPACCA!eeeeeeeeeeee.

Why? Because

a) alpaccas are awesome.
(Okay, I'll grant it that)
b) alpaccas make wool!
(Yyyes. Why do we want one?)
c) with our own wool, we could spin yarn and knit with it!
(Right....kinda cool, but...no.)
d) awww. Please?
(No! For fuck's sake, next thing I know you'll suggest we shave [livejournal.com profile] azekeil's and [livejournal.com profile] ev1ldonut's cat to practice spinning yarn!)
e) ...
(Exactly!)
f) Actually...
(Don't. Even. Think. About. It.)

[livejournal.com profile] azekeil, [livejournal.com profile] ev1ldonut: don't worry, your cats are safe! There will be no shaving of cats, ever. I'm distracting the brain with pictures of pretty, pretty teapots and other cooking related things.

Which cat? I'd LOVE to see you hold either of them still for long enough. Though Jazz might have enough mane fluff for several sweaters...

I wouldn't, blood stains are impossible to ever really get rid of...

We're not talking about this. Really, we're not. *shows brain more teapots and ceramic cooking equipment*

(Just because you really need to know this: I've got really good at getting rid of bloodstains over the years. Oh, the joy of 19 years of womanhood...)

Would a llama do?.. Jeff Minter lives just over the mountain from here, and he keeps llamas

Llamas are llovely, but they are just a gateway pet to neutronium-spitting death camels.

Stand by your beast, player one.

There are people on the internet who, for a sum of money, will take your pet's hair clippings and spin them into yarn. Shaving the cats is not *actually* as unusual as you might think...

(the internet will also provide alpaca clippings should you desire the alpaca experience without an alpaca to spit in your face)

I did save the house bunnies moultings with that in mind. Then I left STBX before learning to spin. Win some, lose some...

Angorra bunnies are an easier option for "pet that produces a traditionally spun fibre", although I admit alpacas have a certain appeal.

I still want sheep though :)

Plus you have a donkey, so the brain is just trying to get the next fix. :)

I did read this bit: "next thing I know you'll suggest we shave [info]azekeil's and [info]ev1ldonut's cat" as "next thing I know you'll suggest we shave [info]azekeil's and [info]ev1ldonut's beards".

It does change the meaning somewhat but it'll probably be easier to acquire the "yarn". ;)
