Ballooning
Aug. 22nd, 2006 07:12 pmIt was absolutely fan-bloody-tastic. The first few minutes were scary as hell, and I threatened to hit people if they asked me if I was okay. The rest of the 70 minute trip were great and I spent most of it leaning over the side of the basket going 'Coo, lookit!' at nearly everything. I didn't even mind the landing, though I wasn't too thrilled about the big birch heading towards my side of the basket.
It's amazing how far you can see when you're 3300 feet up in the air (it's also a bit nippy). We spent most of the trip bunny-hopping (well, it felt that way), going waaaaay up, and then back to about 10 metres off the ground. We scared foxes and deer and hares and various other bits of wildlife, made dogs in their kennels go ballistic and generally spent our time going 'Eeeee! Lookit the cute little houses!'
It was marvellous and I want to go again.
(pics will be up later)
