Jun. 21st, 2008 05:48 pmThe work do was brilliant. The hotel was lovely and I almost felt sorry I decided to not get a room there. Fantastic scenery, good food, great décor and everyone who was there had made a real effort. And some of my coworkers definitely fall into the 'Cleans up rather nicely' category. All in all I had a brilliant time and before I knew it, it was getting light out there. Sitting in the bar, I realised I was seeing the dawn of midsummer's day. So I ran out and watched the sun come up for a while before the cold drove me back inside.
Work has also been rather generous with the goodbye present (what with the whole outsourcing per July 1st). I now have an iPod Shuffle. It is called (perhaps predictably) Tiny Shiny. It's ickle and cute and so shiny. My inner geek is softly squeeing in my ear.
My inner geek has been getting its squee on for the past few days. Today I've watched Launchpad's On The Move video. It is so nifty! It's also made me realise I really really want one of these. I think it may actually have passed beyond 'want' and gone into the realm of 'covet'.
There has also been some moderate squeeing about canes. If I need to get one, then damnit, it will be a shiny cane. There's this one, that one, there's another, and another one, yet one more, and still more. Are we there yet? Nearly there, honest. And finally this one.
I have just been informed that sword sticks are illegal in this country. I will therefore go sit in a corner and sulk. I mean, if I need to get a cane, I bloody well want a sword cane. Otherwise, what's the point?
