Nostalgia ahoy
Dec. 29th, 2008 09:29 pmEarlier this evening I mentioned knowing more of English history than I did of Dutch. I'm sure I learnt lots during my high school years, but most of the stuff I remember is from a comic about a time travelling rodent who told us about the history of money and banks. It involved a quick trip (a very quick trip) along the Hoekse en Kabeljauwse Twisten and Alva losing his glasses and thus a city or something.
I wasn't dreaming. It was actually Bibi's Vertellingen, Oftewel: De Jacht op de Gouden Knorrepot*, which involves a hamster chasing a golden piggy bank. And in that search we rediscovered gems like John Cleese doing a commercial for Giro and Van Nul Tot Nu, a comic about Dutch history from the prehistoric to the modern era.
Hee.
* My sis is gooooood. She found the artist and the first comic, and I then recognised the title of the comic we both have a copy of.
