And I didn't even get a badge. Sure, I'm proud of myself for reducing my overdraft even a little bit for the first time ever and also proud for cancelling orders for stuff I didn't need, thus stopping an actual overspend. Unfortunately, I still feel bad for the initial overspend and there aren't even any shinies to make me feel better. No-one ever warned me this would all be part of being an adult. Or perhaps they did and I just didn't believe them.

Still, I'm determined to see the positive side of things (which, on a related note, is a hell of a lot easier now that I can actually breathe again. Apparently, persistent lack of oxygen can cause all kinds of fun things like feeling slow, stupid, depressed and scatterbrained. Who knew! (Cue several friends with asthma going "I did!")), so once a week I am going to try to read/play/watch something that I've acquired at some point and haven't actually done anything with.

To that end, today is Adventure Game Day, wherein I play three or four adventure games, swapping between them when I get stuck/bored. On the list: The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, Deponia (a game by Daedalic Entertainment) and Broken Sword. Okay, so technically I've only not played one of those before, but I never completed the other ones, therefore it totally counts!

Aww. I appreciate the weird and therefore non-existent badge and will treasure it always (without sarcasm!) :)

*hugs*

Yay! I, myself, am still struggling with that achievement.

It's surprisingly easy! Not fun, but easy. Er...once you've fulfilled all the prerequisites, of course. And those bastards differ per person.

So being fiscally responsible is not much like a point and click adventure game. 's More like an RPG. A really, really boring RPG.

I know all the stuff I'm supposed to do. It's like there's spell resistance or damage reduction or something stopping it being effective. Or maybe I'm using a bludgeoning weapon on an Ooze or something...

I unfortunately do not know the answer (see personal prerequisites etc). Have you tried using the rubber-chicken-with-the-pulley-in-the-middle? (Yes, that dates me...)

Yay Monkey Island!!

If I accept I'm chaotic rather than lawful in financial matters, maybe I can get a better handle on my pre-reqs. Thank you. :)

I tend to run one adventure game at a time. Some of them run fast, others run slow. The nice thing about GOG.com is that there's such a good collection, at peanut prices. With the warm, fuzzy feeling of a legitimate purchase.

Currently playing Riven.
