I am miffed.

Oh yes. I am totally and utterly miffed. And obsessed. All because my cries for help were not heard. Seriously, is it that hard to stop me from looking up old 80s cartoons? I think not. Instead, you all joined in! Which means that the floodgates of memory have been ripped off their hinges and I've spent most of this morning googling and wiki-ing for those hard-to-find shows I watched as kid.
Do you have any idea how bloody hard it is to find a cartoon when all you remember is a big purple whooping thing from the planet Zyrgnoff which shot pink mind-rays at people? (No, that wasn't an actual cartoon. That was what we call 'an example'. I hope. Oh, I hope to god it's an example and not a memory I'd hitherto suppressed...)
And to top it all off, I still have the bloody Seabert bloody theme song bloody stuck in my bloody head.
So...I decided to share with you the results of my (and #afp's) labours. So, sit back, relax and see how many of these shows you've watched. (Feel free to cringe, whimper and curse, by the way, but don't throw stuff at me. Unless it's more links...)

There were also two ALF animated series -- one set on Melmac, and one called ALFTales in which the characters from the ALF cartoon appeared in fairy tales & such.
I'm surprised we haven't delved into the huge, huge catalog of Hanna-Barbera series. There were like a hundred...I swear they were cranking out a cheaply-animated episode every 30 minutes for a while.

Date: 2006-11-05 08:34 pm (UTC)I was an equal opportunity kid, really. My (faux) Barbie dolls used to join GI Joe on heroic rescue mission. I fashioned heroic clothes from scraps of cloth wot I pinched from mum's stash.
And all my dolls were conscripted when I went through my Greek phase. Mum got really upset when I pinched a 'scrap' of silk she'd been planning to use and cut it up to make robes for all my dolls.
So, my toys all got equal cross-dressing time. I don't know if this meant I was a very healthy child or a freak, to be honest. :)
